Optum Network

Welcome to the WellMed Network of Physicians-Texas

A partnership of Optum and WellMed

Empowering doctors and clinicians to build successful practices with value-based care in Texas.

WellMed is a health care delivery system specializing in Medicare-insured patients in a physician-led primary care-centered environment across Florida, New Mexico and Texas. Opening in 1990 as a two-location primary care practice, WellMed has grown into a large medical group and medical management company focusing on high-value, preventive care and is recognized as a leader in disease management, preventive medicine and supportive care.

In 2011, WellMed joined efforts with Optum to expand our care model throughout Florida, New Mexico and Texas. This relationship gives our physicians and clinicians access to a deep bench of unique resources and services to improve care and remove barriers.

The WellMed network of employed and contracted primary care physicians, specialists, advanced care practitioners, and medical staff is dedicated to building strong, trusting relationships with patients and their caregivers through open communication, transparency, compassion and empathy. As part of our coordinated continuum of care practice, our doctors have access to technology that allows all doctors, clinicians and specialists in our network access to a patient’s history, medications, procedures and tests at any time, any place.
